God damn do I love this album, there's a very quick wit behind a lot of the lyrics ("Scared of my shadow / can never get away from it"). The swings between different beats per minute are probably my favourite aspect of this album though. It's pretty uncertain, going from slow, to fast, to faster, then back to slow. It's an aspect you can't quite get on paper, because this just sounds like someone describing really any song. It's something you can also observe in Modest Mouse's works, especially Steam Engenius.
