Time to Pretend (MGMT)

This is a hit for the kids, the people who are right around my age. I've just graduated and that is one hell of a song, it pretty much fully encapsulates my feelings of being open, but also feeling trapped. Let's do some pretty basic analyzing of the lyrics, because I don't have an english course to let this shit out on. I'm sure it's nothing some dork on Genius hasn't already did, but I don't really care. I'm sure they've been through these same feelings, but I'm feeling them now.

Honestly this is probably a very important piece of context, MGMT wrote "Time to Pretend" in their senior year of college (this is from the top of the genius page on the song). That probably means that my gut feelings about what the song was about were probably right. That feeling of being at the end of something so big. They're "in the prime of [their life]" the world is in their hands.
